Our Story
I’m Jane Stuart, founder of Cool AF Beers.
Pubs have been a second home for me for all my adult life. They have been there through my lager and alcopops years, my real ale and craft beer years – and remain an important part of my life since I switched to alcohol free beer.
Since making the switch, I’ve been feeling fresher, sleeping better and losing weight. Crucially, I still get to enjoy the pubs and pub culture, including that vital connection with the pub community. Turns out it was the pubs and the people I loved all along – not the alcohol.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find AF beer widely available in pubs. However I have noticed is that it’s not particularly visible – and I often have to ask for it, like it’s an under the counter item. It’s missing from beer menus. It’s hidden away in fridges behind bars that I’m not tall enough to see. In pubs with visible, rummageable fridges, the AF beer selection is often not clearly signposted.
There’s a huge volume and variety of AF beer being brewed right now. The quality is there. The visibility isn’t.
So I started Cool AF Beers to help fix that.
Lets put AF beers on the map. I built this website to celebrate low and no alcohol beer and shine a light on what’s out there and where to find it. If you’re sober, cutting back or simply enjoy good beer regardless of ABV, this is your place.
